Our Story

KaBloom was born from the passion and expertise of the dedicated occupational therapy team at Bloom Wellbeing, based in South Australia. Guided by a shared vision, we set out to create evidence-based tools and programs designed to empower young people and their families to navigate life’s key stages with confidence and understanding.

Our journey began in 2017 with the creation of the original Puberty Plus group called Well Girls. It all started when our Director noticed a pattern among her clients—several young people with similar goals around navigating the changes of puberty. Inspired by the shared needs of these families, she thought, “Why not bring them together?” This led to the development of a short 5 week group that was developed week by week, that helped young people explore puberty while fostering a sense of community. The program kept growing and they wanted more, behold the Next Level program, Piper Gets Her Period book and even a comic strip! She then heard the families asking for a boys program, which then led to the creation of Being Boys (we really struggled to name this program, we asked the world of social media and an other OT came up with the name – and it wasn't until weeks later that we realised the Being was a play on the word "Well-Being"!!)

After all that, we quickly realised that we were a small team and could only provide this program to a small handful of those who wanted it and that lead to the creation of the Registered Facilitator Program. We now train OTs from all over Australia and even internationally.

Puberty Plus became the foundation for what KaBloom is today—a growing collection of programs designed to meet the real-world needs of families. There are more ideas are still blossoming in Puberty Plus, they’ve inspired us to continually expand our offerings to ensure no child or family or therapist is left unsupported.

Similarly, our Senaroos crew was created to fill another gap we identified in therapy tools and interventions. We recognised that many children connect deeply with relatable characters and stories, finding comfort and understanding through these shared experiences. The key focus of the Sensaroos is helping children and their families understand sensory profiles and how these influence their experiences. By learning about their unique sensory needs and gaining strategies to navigate the sensory world, children can build confidence and thrive in their everyday environments. Senaroos brings these elements to life, creating engaging, character-driven resources that help children explore emotions, develop skills, and navigate challenges in a way that feels both fun and meaningful.

At KaBloom, we’re committed to growing alongside the families we serve. Each program, tool, and resource we create reflects our dedication to empowering young people to embrace their uniqueness, build resilience, and thrive.

Welcome to KaBloom—where growth begins, community is built, and possibilities bloom.
